A magnificent late 18th Century 2-storey residence with a single-storey extension, which was designed to keep the character of the original house. The original house was built from some of the stones of Ballyumpton Castle and a small window known as ‘Freney’s Window’ which is named after a Highwayman James Freney (said to have robbed the house after gaining entry through same window) is now located in the ground floor W.C. The house was occupied by William Palliser (who was Archbishop of Cashel) who at one time married Catherine Harvey of Wexford and the property is part of the townsland of Castlepalliser.
